This is a peach of an opportunity. The chance to take the helm of PiP’s thriving Fruitful project whilst our current Coordinator goes off to nurture her own little seedling.

You’ll be combining business, creative, catering and people skills. You’ll be doing genuine good, helping PiP students lead more independent lives.

The role’s totally unique. Are you ripe and ready for the challenge?

PiP is a London charity helping adults with learning disabilities fulfil their potential. Fruitful is a major PiP initiative – a pop-up stall selling fabulous, healthy and fresh fruit juices to Londoners. It helps our students take on responsibility, handle cash and engage with people. It’s a big success with corporate partners and street food markets. Are you the person to help continue its success in 2019?

PiP is a team of highly committed people, led by the wonderful Bill, from an office up near Paddington.

We’re here to help people with learning disabilities meet their challenges and lead fruitful, independent and happy lives. We teach the skills most of us take for granted. Catching a bus, talking to other people, dealing with money, working.

PiP is growing and we hope to support 200 more adults with learning disabilities over the next few years.  This will undoubtedly bring further job opportunities.

Fruitful is a PiP initiative that’s really taken off. We created a pop-up stall, managed by our students, creating fresh fruit juices for clients and passers-by. It’s already proving a success and we want to establish it as a valued part of local life – with the ambition of opening further stalls across London in the future.

There’s isn’t a job quite like it. You’ll be overseeing the whole Fruitful project and that calls for a whole cocktail of talents.

This is a role for someone with the patience to work with people who have learning disabilities and the drive to help them achieve accredited development toward their future career. The greatest reward will be seeing them flourish and gain in confidence, and learn skills for work and life.

You’ll need to be business savvy too – planning to make the stall a success on a weekly and monthly basis. You’ll be liaising with clients, drawing up timetables, seeking out new locations, managing the finances, promoting the stall on social platforms and to the media.

You need to be practical enough to ensure all equipment and people (trainees, staff and volunteers) are in the right place at the right time, and functioning properly. Every pop-up has to meet Health & Safety standards – and you’ll be in charge of that.

You’ll need to look after our current supporters as well as being great at negotiating the best savings on strawberries, and the lowest prices on pears. Someone who isn’t afraid of writing a business report and presenting it to PiP stakeholders.

You’ll be someone who would thrive in the Dragon’s Den. Someone who loves the idea of developing new ways to make a business grow.

And you’ll need to be someone who can nurture our students, help them grow and recruit new ones. Maybe you have experience already in the voluntary sector, or catering. Or both.

The PiP Fruitful coordinator is responsible for the entire Fruitful Health and Wellbeing project. The core hours will be Mon-Fri, with some weekend and evening working over a 37 hour week. Salary will be £24-29,000 per annum. You will, of course, need to complete a Disclosure Check.

It is a wonderful opportunity for someone looking to expand their current catering or marketing career or work in the voluntary sector and gain experience in the charity sector. You will develop business and entrepreneurial skills, practical management and marketing experience and create a wonderful case history for yourself. Will you be the pick of the bunch?

Are you the person for this plum position? Have you got the people skills? The business sense? That entrepreneurial flair? Are you high energy?
