Sadiq Khan Books Fruitful
After the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan paid a visit to PiP last May he had such a good time hearing from the students about the Fruitful project and even getting a live rendition of the official Fruitful song (listen to the full version here) that he decided to book us up to sell juices at City Hall.
We were all very excited at the prospect and set about planning our juices for the day. The trainees taking part in this event were Fruitful veterans Danny and George as well as newbie Lydia and on top of getting to be a part such a fab event, they also got to have a bit of a tourist morning on route due to the great central location of City Hall.
Our 2 most popular juices on the day were ‘The Pear of London’ (Pear, Lime, Grape and Cucumber) and ‘Fruiting Broadway’ (Beetroot, Cucumber, Ginger and Apple) named in honour of the Mayor and the town he grew up in.
We had such a great time and met some really interesting people who wanted to speak to the students all about what being part of Fruitful involves, and what a great setting to boot, serving up juices with London Bridge peeping through the window. Hopefully, this will be the start of a very Fruitful relationship with the Mayor, now until next time…
